The Rajasthan High Court today ruled that no mobile towers would be installed in Jaipur without its permission.
Justice G K Vyas issued the order on a writ petition filed by Vimla Sharma, a resident of the Pink City.
The petition alleged that mobile companies do not follow rules and regulations while installing the towers. It further alleged that the mobile companies do not take permission from concerned authorities before installing the batteries used to operate these towers.
The petitioner said the towers are a threat to human beings as they emit waves which result in mental and sleeping disorders and other diseases.
The petitioner has challenged the installation of the tower in the vicinity of her residence near the Jaipur airport.
But, the Court ruled that no mobile towers would be installed in the city without its permission.
The Judge also issued notices to the Rajasthan Chief Secretary and other top government officers in connection with the petition.
