Student, teacher raped, blackmailed

Two women from Jaipur, in separate incidents, have alleged that they were raped and filmed during the crime by people known to them. The accused later used the recordings to blackmail them into having sex, the police said.

One of the victims, a 21-year-old student of Bachelor of Business Administration, approached the police on Saturday with a compact disc containing her rape scenes.

She alleged her hostel owners raped her in August last year and used the recordings to coerce her into having sex for several months. “We have arrested hostel owner Madan Singh, 35, co-owner Deepak Kumar, 24, and hostel warden Laxmi Devi, 30,” said BL Soni, police commissioner, Jaipur.

Tired of repeated blackmailing, the woman moved out of the hostel early this month, the police said.

In another incident, a 22-year-old teacher at a private tuition centre has filed a complaint that the owners of the centre intoxicated and subsequently raped her in July 2009. They too filmed the crime, the police said.

The police have booked Om Prakash, Pawan Kumar and Hanuman Kumar, for the crime.
