A court in Rajasthan on Saturday sentenced two men to five years of rigorous imprisonment for abducting a 16-year-old girl in 2012.

The special court for prevention of atrocities against women sent Kuldip Singh and Gurcharan Singh to jail after holding them guilty of kidnapping.

According to additional public prosecutor Paramjeet Kaur Gujral, the court found the accused guilty of kidnapping and awarded them each three years in jail and ` 500 fine under section 363 of IPC — punishment for kidnapping— and five years in jail and `1,000 fine under section 366 IPC —kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman to compel her to marry, etc. The special justice Sanjeev Mago court cancelled bail of the accused and sent them to jail to serve the sentence.
