“Don’t cross the lakshman rekha because you are in power. The CPI-M-led government should not do whatever it likes. We are a responsible political party and believe in democracy or else we would have thrashed them,” Banerjee told a public meeting here.

She also alleged that the marxist ‘manipulated´ voter lists.

Banerjee, however, remained silent on the issue of TC’s possible alliance with Congress in the Lok Sabha poll except saying that a united fight against the CPI-M was required to ‘revive´ democracy in the state.

She alleged that there was no law and order in the state and the Centre should intervene.

Banerjee said TC would approach President Pratibha Patil to get justice for Rizwanur Rahman, Arindam Manna and Tapasi Malik.
