The 48-year-old Sarkar, who had been undergoing treatment at the super-speciality private hospital after suffering injury in a bike accident since November 22, was scheduled to be shifted to state-run SSKM on Saturday as there was not much improvement in his condition, grieving brother Rabinath said.

However, this afternoon the family got the news that Kashinath died of asphyxiation on the third floor and his body was also identified later, he said.
