Suicide bid on Kolkata Metro tracks
An elderly man allegedly tried to commit suicide this morning by jumping on the Metro tracks in front of a speeding train at the Shyambazar station here.

An elderly man allegedly tried to commit suicide this morning by jumping on the Metro tracks in front of a speeding train at the Shyambazar station here.
The driver of the train bound for Kavi Subhas station applied emergency brakes and Metro officials with the help of local police immediately rushed the man to the R G Kar Hospital where doctors could save his life.
Train services were disrupted for nearly 50 minutes due to the incident and resumed after 10.30 AM, Metro officials said.
Office goers, as a result, were inconvenienced as the incident took place during peak hours.
