Samsher Singh Tur was inducted into the party in the presence of party chief Sukhpal Singh Khaira and PEP’s Khadoor Sahib candidate Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra.

Addressing the gathering, Khaira said, “Mohan Singh Tur, who also severed as a Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, was the true servant of the country. He was a true akali who worked to secure the rights of Punjab and its people during his tenure. The PEP will become all the more stronger after welcoming the Tur family into its fold.”

Lashing out at SAD’s candidate Bibi Jagir Kaur, Khaira said, “She is the enemy of the Sikh Panth. During her tenure as president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), she gave a private channel owned by SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal permission to air the gurbani kirtan of the Golden Temple free of cost for 20 years. She has no vision. She just keeps chanting Sukhbir Badal’s name.”

Championing Bibi Paramjit Kaur, who is the widow of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, he said, “On one side is Bibi Jagir Kaur, who killed her daughter, and on other side is Bibi Paramjit Kaur, who has been fighting to deliver justice to the families who lost their sons during militancy.”

SAD’s Majha zone youth wing vice-president, Samsher Singh said, “SAD was constituted for securing the rights of Sikhs but today the SAD is only working to benefit a few leaders.”
