Special team to ensure specially abled voters exercise their voting rights
As per the report with the Lucknow Nagar Nigam, the names of around 5,000 specially abled voters are missing from the voters list. Besides, the surveyors also identified around fresh 2834 specially abled voters, whose names are to be included in the electoral rolls.
The district administration has formed a special committee to ensure complete participation of specially abled voters in the coming general elections . The initiative is said to be a part of ‘no voter left behind’ campaign that aims to boost the polling percentage in the state capital.

Kaushal Raj Sharma, district magistrate said the teams would identify the specially abled voters in the city and ensure their participation in the elections . “On failing to ensure their presence at the polling booths, strict action would be initiated against the officers concerned,” said DM.

Meanwhile, a massive voter awareness campaign was also held in the city on Saturday. The campaign was organised by the district administration in coordination with Maa Bhagwati Nehru Yuva Club. The administrative officials not only created awareness among the youths but also motivated them to cast their vote as it was their right.
