Four arms dealers arrested by ATS from Kanpur

The accused were selling arms by illegally using licence from Bihar.

Four persons were arrested on Tuesday by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) from Kanpur for allegedly selling arms by illegally using licence from Bihar, the police said.

The squad headed by deputy superintendent of police Manish Chandra Sonkar arrested the arms dealers from Kanpur, inspector general of the Uttar Pradesh ATS Assem Arun said in a statement.

“Vijay Khanna (Khanna Armoury), Amarjeet Neogy (AK Neogy and Company), Jainul Abdeen (Poorvanchal Gun House) and Rajiv Shukla (Jai Jawan Arms Dealer) have been arrested,” it said.

The involvement of the accused in illegal selling of 19 arms has emerged during investigation, the statement said .
