BOARD STAFF CARRYING EXAM PAPERS HELD HOSTAGE IN PILIBHIT

Two Class 3 employees of UP Board, who had gone to Drummond Government Intermediate College in Pilibhit to hand over question papers for the board exams on February 10, were allegedly held hostage by the school employees there.
The school officials and staff were upset over the sudden arrival of the two with the question papers in the night, said Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad Karnik Sangh president Shivji Srivastava.

The two employees -- Urmilesh Kumar and Ramesh Kumar -- were released the next morning and they reported the matter to Pilibhit DIoS RK Verma and then lodged an FIR there in this connection, he added.

Sangh members on Tuesday staged a protest at UP Board headquarters demanding strict action against the guilty.

The DIoS has, meanwhile, suspended two peons of the college and recommended suspension of school principal Shyama Kumar. We are looking in to the incident,” said UP Board secretary Nina Srivastava.
