Cine Actress Celina Jaitley on Sunday said the Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was a born leader and his leadership would change the world for the better.

Talking to media persons at Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) headquarters here today she said, “I have been born and brought up when late Rajiv Gandhi was prime minister,” she said adding that she wanted to bring Rajiv Gandhi era back.

Rahul Gandhi had a mix of qualities of late Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, she said. “I am a Congress supporter by heart,” she said while replying to a question. Her family had remained associated with the Congress, she said adding that she did not charge any money for campaigning in favour of Congress candidates.

Celina recalled her close association with Lucknow and said she had started her campaign from the state capital to campaign for Congress candidates. Replying to another question Celina said she would not like to comment on the performance of Mulayam Singh Yadav government. Asked whether she was a Congress member Celina said she may join the Congress in the days to come. “I am still a child though I have attained the voting age,” she said adding that as film actress she may remain in the same age for another 10 years. Asked about skimpy dresses she had been putting on in movies, she said there was a difference between her reel and real life. “That is my film avtar,” she said adding that in her real life she was putting on normal dresses.

Senior Congress Leader Rajiv Shukla on this occasion said the Samajwadi Party's graph was going down in the Vidhan Sabha elections. The SP had reached at the bottom after the three phases of polling, he said. Shukla also flayed the Mulayam Singh Yadav government for the damage it had caused on the sports arena. Three international matches had to be cancelled due to non-cooperation of Mulayam government, he said. Asked about state's representation in Indian cricket team he said two players Peeyush Chawala and RP Singh had been selected from UP. While selection committee did not consider Suresh Raina due to injuries it may consider inducting Mohammad Kaif in the team in future, he said.
