Sex trade racket busted, two held

The cops traced the accused through a phone call received at the modern police control room. The call was made by a prostitute herself who complained about the two brokers for not paying her the promised sum of Rs. 20,000 per day for her services. On her tip off, the two brokers were arrested late on Tuesday night and sent to jail on Wednesday.

Police nabbed two persons including a woman, here and sent them to jail on Wednesday for their alleged involvement in a high profile sex trade racket operational in the city.

The cops traced the accused through a phone call received at the modern police control room. “The call was made by a prostitute herself who complained about the two brokers for not paying her the promised sum of Rs. 20,000 per day for her services. Through her call, we subsequently unearthed high profile prostitutes racket operational in the city,” said SSP Yashasvi Yadav.

On her tip off, the two brokers were arrested late on Tuesday night and sent to jail on Wednesday. He said the two brokers were identified as Raja and his woman friend.

He said the girl told the cops that the two brokers disappeared after leaving her outside a highend hotel in Gomti Nagar.

He said the girl called up the police after feeling cheated and exposed them.

Further probe confirmed that the two brokers have links state wide and they used to hire girls from Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, Gurgaon and Chandigarh on demand from their city clients.

“The complainant, who hails from Nasik, is presently based in Delhi. She told that she had come to Lucknow for the first time but around 30-40 girls of her ilk and age often visit here,” said a cop who is part of the investigation team. The cop said besides getting regular payments, the girls are also paid airfares.

He added, the complainant told that she is an aspiring model and struggling hard in Delhi to prove herself in the glamour world.
