UP roads in Potholes:HT campaign

The UP government failed to completely meet its claim of making 1,21,034 km roads in UP pothole-free.

Beginning today, we have launched a road reality check across the state, starting with the posh Vibhuti Khand in Gomti Nagar and Faizullahganj in Lucknow. As the pictures show, it’s more of potholes and less of roads in these areas.

The UP government failed to completely meet its claim of making 1,21,034 km roads in UP pothole-free by June 15, but claimed to have covered 63% of roads within three months of coming to power.

The PWD maintains the biggest chunk of roads –- nearly 23 lakh km–of which 85,160 km had potholes. The government claims to have covered 70,030 km of this.
