Yogi to attend Hindu Heritage Day in Canada
A Canadian delegation invited the chief minister to the event, which over 15,000 people of Indian origin.

Patrick Brown, leader of opposition in the provincial parliament of Ontario, is leading the delegation.
Gulab Singh Saini, part of the 14-member Canadian delegation, told HT, “We have invited chief minister Yogi Adityanath to attend Hindu Heritage Day celebrations in Ontario in November. He will be chief guest at the event. The CM has given his consent for the event.”
Saini is director South Asian Development and Membership Growth (Canada) which works for enhancement of ties with Asian countries. He said, “Patrick Brown and other members of the delegation discussed potential areas —infrastructure development, roads, dairy development— for investment in UP.”
“Chief minister Yogi Adityanath promised to provide all possible facilities for investment and also suggested agriculture as one of the major potential areas for investment in UP. The CM is more concerned about the farming community,” Saini said.
BJP MP Dr Udit Raj, who coordinated between Canadian team and UP government, said, “Chief minister Yogi Adityanath told the delegation that they may invest in the areas in the eastern dedicated freight corridor that will cross 19 districts, including Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Ghazibad, Noida, Etawah, Kanpur, Allahabad, Mirzapur and Chandauli.”
“He also told the members to come forward to invest along the proposed Lucknow-Azamgarh-Ballia Express way,” the MP said, adding the Canadian members may invest in metro projects in Agra, Kanpur and Varanasi.
“The delegation of Canada expressed keen interest in enhancing bilateral ties between Ontario and UP for extending support and exchange of ideas on a number of issues, including culture, heritage, science and technology,” Raj said.
The delegation also discussed women empowerment, water purification, smart village, food processing and infrastructure development for extending support.
Raj said the delegation asked the chief minister to send a village head to the smart village conclave that will take place in Ontario in the near future. The smart village conclave will discuss ways to make villages smart. The chief minister welcomed the idea, saying a village head will be sent.
The other members include members of various Canadian provincial assemblies Jas Johal (British Columbia), Niha Tangri, Amarjot Sandhu, Deepak Anand and businessmen Jatinderveer Banwait, Ashwin Tangri, Lal Prashar, Sukhbir Singh, Daljit Singh and Sanjay Saini and Jag Badwal, vice president of the Progressive Conservative Party.
