The Hindi film industry is not known for experimenting too much with its themes, so Baar Baar Dekho remains well within the limits of a typical Bollywood love story. But, it also shows the urge to break free from the clutches of conventional storytelling techniques.

Jai (Sidharth Malhotra) and Diya (Katrina Kaif) are in love, but Jai is way too much concerned about his career as a Mathematics professor. He wants to enjoy life, but is reluctant in letting go of his serious self.
On the other hand, Diya lives in the moment, and wants to experience much more than what has been offered to her.

Narrative tricks like time travelling are used to give it a modern touch, but producer Karan Johar’s reflection is quite visible in Baar Baar Dekho.
Director Nitya Mehra’s film is pepped with exotic locales and trendy numbers. Kala Chashma and Nachne De Saare have already become chartbusters.
