The Shantinagar police on Thursday arrested two men for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl at her Bhiwandi residence. The police arrested Imran Khan alias Imu, 27, and Javed Shaikh, 30. They are now on the lookout of their accomplice Kinna. All three have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act, 2012.
Cops said the girl and Khan were in a relationship a year ago, which she ended owing to family pressure. But this did not go down well with Khan, who held a grudge against her.
A week ago, Khan hatched a plot to teach the girl a lesson and sought help from his friends — Kinna and Shaikh. As per their plan, the trio barged into the girl’s residence on Wednesday night. While Kinna and Shaikh forced the girl’s parents out of their residence and threatened them against seeking help from their neighbours or police, Khan raped the girl inside the house.
“They used weapons to threaten the family and fled the spot after committing the crime. Based on the complaint filed by the girl, we filed a case and arrested two of them. The third accused is on the run. Khan and Shaikh were produced in court and remanded in police custody till February 14,” said senior inspector K Jadhav from Shantinagar police station.
