The Charkop police are trying to identify the minor boy who committed the crime, as 12-year-old girl was unable to describe him clearly.
A Class 6 student of a private school in Kandivli (West) was allegedly molested by her senior at the school’s canteen on Thursday.

The Charkop police are trying to identify the minor boy who committed the crime, as 12-year-old girl was unable to describe him clearly. The Charkop police said the incident took place in the afternoon. The girl told police a boy came from behind her and slid his hand inside her skirt. The police are currently taking circumstantial and descriptive details of the boy from her in order to identify him.
The police said they will also go through CCTV cameras to see if they can get any leads. They are questioning a group of boys who were also in the canteen when the incident took place.
By Friday, several parents started protesting outside the school, accusing the management of not responding quickly to the incident. The girl’s relatives demanded to see the principal and school officials, but said they were not allowed to enter the school premises. School officials did not meet HT despite requests for a comment. The school principal did not respond to calls and messages from HT.
The Charkop police have registered a first information report (FIR) under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual offences (POCSO) Act.
