Coldplay concert: Traffic diversions and restrictions at Bandra Kurla Complex

The Mumbai traffic police have issued a traffic advisory for Bandra Kurla Complex during the Global Citizen Festival India (GCFI), headlined by the British rock band Coldplay on Saturday.

The BKC Road from Bharat Nagar junction to MTNL junction will be closed for traffic between 11pm on Friday and 11pm Saturday. Bharat Diamond Bourse gate no 8, Trident Hotel junction and Sofitel Hotel will also be out of bounds for vehicles. Similar restrictions will be placed on the south-bound stretch of Western Express Highway from Kherwadi junction, Uttar Bharatiya Sangh, UTI quarters, bylane beside BKC police station to Bharat Nagar service road and BKC Fire Brigade (SRA-Trade Centre).

The ‘restricted’ roads will, however, be open for VIPs, sponsors and pass holders attending the festival, which will be on the MMRDA grounds

Vehciles bound for Kurla, Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) or MTNL will be diverted to a right turn at Bharat Nagar junction, a left turn at BKC Laxmi Tower towards IOC petrol pump junction, and a right turn towards American Consulate then a left to Sofitel Hotel towards Tata Communication ending at MTNL junction.

Those taking SCLR will be using the route of Mohd Raza junction from where a left turn towards MTNL junction will be facilitated.

For motorists plying on LBS Road, they will be headed from Surve Chowk towards MTNL and then to American Consulate up to MMRDA junction.

As the south-bound stretch of the highway will be closed from Kherwadi junction, motorists will be diverted to Kalanagar junction towards Family Court junction up to ILFS junction from where a right turn to the internal road at ICICI Bank Building will be available up to MTNL junction.
