Dindoshi rape case transferred to Andheri police over inaction

In her complaint, the teenager had accused her father, a construction businessman, of touching her inappropriately when she would be sleeping and raping her on multiple occasions.

After a 17-year-old rape survivor accused the Dindoshi police and another officer from Bangur Nagar police station of suppressing the matter, the Mumbai police commissioner Datta Padsalgikar transferred her case to Andheri police station. The minor’s statement was also recorded before the magistrate in Andheri.

The girl’s advocate Naveen Chomal had submitted a letter to the additional commissioner and also approached Padsalgikar in the matter. “The commissioner was considerate and transferred the case to Andheri police. The Dindoshi cops were not telling us about the development in the case and were delaying action. They have still not arrested anyone despite it being a POCSO case,” said Chomal.
