The sessions court in Thane, near Mumbai, issued a proclamation order declaring former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni and her alleged husband Vicky Goswami as offenders on Tuesday.

The duo are the main accused in the Rs2000 crore ephedrine drug haul case.

On April 12, 2016, the Thane police arrested two drug peddlers, Sagar Suresh Powale and Mayur Suresh Sukhdare, with ephedrine worth Rs12 lakh. When questioned, they revealed the source of the drug, and a team raided a factory in Solpaur — Avon Life sciences Pvt Limited and found clorse to 20 tonnes of ephedrine, worth Rs2,000 crore.
