Four friends slit 17-year-old’s throat after he overhears them plan a robbery in Mumbai
Parents of the minor had gone to their village when the incident occurred
Four youngsters were arrested for allegedly killing their 17-year-old friend in Bandra on Tuesday after he stopped them from stealing valuables from his home.

The Kherwadi police said Ajay Jaiswal, 17, was hosting a party at his residence in Nyaneshwar Nagar in Bandra for his friends as his parents had gone to their village for a week. Senior inspector Rajendra Patil said, “The murder came to light at 7am on Tuesday after his parents came home and found his room locked. They broke the door open and saw Ajay lying unconscious.”
On Tuesday morning, the four accused — Sharif Shaukatali, 21, Shahzad Ali, 20, Saddam Shaikh, 18, and main accused Niyaz Hashmi, 19 — asked Ajay to get them some cigarettes. The police said Ajay exited the house but sensing something wrong, he stood outside and tried to overhear their conversation. He heard them planning to steal gold ornaments from his house. He confronted them and this led to an altercation. The youths then slit his throat and hit him on the head with a blunt object 3-4 times, said the police. Assistant inspector Sohan Kadam said, “Three of the accused have prior theft cases against them. They will be produced before a magistrate court on Wednesday.”
