ICSE, ISC results to be announced today
This year, the cut-off for passing ICSE is 33% instead of 35% and for passing ISC is 35% instead of 40%
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) will announce ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) and ISC (Indian School Certificate) results today at 3pm.
The council, through a press release, stated that results will be available on the council’s official website www.results.cisce.org.
This year, a few changes in the passing cut-off have been incorporated by the council. The cut-off for passing ICSE is 33% instead of 35% and for passing ISC is 35% instead of 40%.
“The objective of this is to bring about a close uniformity with other boards in the country,” the press release said.
This change was to be incorporated from 2019. The council, however, went forward with it this year itself.
Around 81,000 students appeared for ISC exams and around 1.84 lakh students took the class 10 ICSE board exams.
“We hope students benefit from this change in passing criteria,” said an official from a Mumbai school.
ICSE board exams were conducted between February 26 and April 12, and ISC board exams from February 7 to April 4.
“For the past five years, our students have been scoring well, with an approximate of 75%-80% distinction,” said Sushma Dhumal, director, Vishwajyot High School, Kharghar.
“We thrive for better results every year. I am sure our students will make us proud,” Dhumal added. Last year, the results were announced on May 29. It was delayed due to the Assembly elections held in five states.
