In Mumbai: Baby slips from mother’s hand, falls off 2nd floor, dies

An accidental death report has been filed.

A six-month-old boy died after falling off the second floor of a banquet hall in Kalyan on Sunday, said police. An accidental death report has been filed.

“The family from Ulhasnagar had come to Matoshree hall to attend a wedding. Femida Shaikh, 23, was carrying her son, Mohhammad, in her arms while coming down the second floor. As she was wearing stilettos, she lost her balance. The child slipped out of her hands and the gap between the railings and fell to the ground,” said an officer from Mahatma Phule police station.

“He was rushed to Rukminibai Hospital in Kalyan, where he was declared dead on arrival,” the officer said.
