Day-long shutdown in Maharashtra, top airlines issue advisory

Maratha leaders have called for a bandh from 8 am to 6 pm across Maharashtra, except Navi Mumbai and Thane. Essential services, including public transport, are exempt.

Anticipating disruptions, several domestic airlines have issued advisories on Thursday for passengers in view of the Maharashtra bandh called by Maratha groups seeking reservation in jobs.

Domestic carriers such as Indigo, Vistara and Jet Air have advised travellers to factor in extra time while travelling to and from the airport. They have also been advised to check flight timings before starting for the airport. (Satish Bate/HT File Photo)

Maratha leaders have called for a bandh from 8 am to 6 pm across Maharashtra, except Navi Mumbai and Thane. Essential services, including public transport, are exempt.

However, domestic carriers such as Indigo, Vistara and Jet Air have advised travellers to factor in extra time while travelling to and from the airport. They have also been advised to check flight timings before starting for the airport.

Several airlines has also waived rescheduling fee for customers travelling to/from Mumbai and Pune.
