Bhoir lured the pet dog to his flat and fed him poisoned chicken

Seeking revenge on his neighbour, a man poisoned his dog in Naigaon,Vasai on Saturday evening. The dog died and a case was registered before the Waliv police. The dog’s carcass has been sent for a post-mortem.

The accused, Jalinder Bhoir, has not yet been arrested.

Bhoir and Vimal Tulsi Ram Gharat, 50, live in neighbouring apartments in Juchandra,Vasai (East). There was an old enmity between the two,said a Waliv police official.

Bhoir lured the pet dog to his flat and fed him poisoned chicken. The dog died within a few moments. Gharat blamed Bhoir for the dog’s death. A spat ensued between the two, during which Bhoir allegedly assaulted Gharat.

“Gharat complained to us and we registered cases under Section 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cattle), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 and 506 (threat) against Bhoir,” said an official.
