Money woes force 25-year-old to kill self
Police said preliminary investigation indicated that the deceased, Anish Sharma, allegedly stabbed himself with a knife when he could not arrange money for his sister’s wedding.
Monetary crises forced a 25-year-old boy to commit suicide at his residence in Malad (east) on Sunday morning. Police said preliminary investigation indicated that the deceased, Anish Sharma, allegedly stabbed himself with a knife when he could not arrange money for his sister’s wedding.

Sharma, who worked as delivery boy and was staying alone in a rented accommodation in Hanuman Nagar area in Kurar Village, Malad (east), had fought with his wife over the phone as she was insisting that he returns to their native place in Uttar Pradesh, said a police officer.
“We have informed Sharma’s parents in UP and they are on their way. We have been recording the neighbours’ and Sharma’s friends’ statements to know the exact reason behind the incident,” said senior inspector L Vhanmane of the Kurar police station.
Sharma came back home at around 9.30 pm on Saturday and the incident came to light around 12.30 am when owner of the room, Deepa Bhatt, who lives in the adjacent house, found Sharma’s door open.
“She peeked and found Sharma lying on the floor with a blood-covered knife beside him. She then went inside and found him lying in a pool of blood,” said a police officer. Bhatt immediately alerted other neighbours and also informed the police control room.
