Five days after a 32-year-old was sucked into an MRI machine at Nair Hospital along with an oxygen cylinder, the Agripada police arrested radiologist Siddhant Shah on Thursday evening on charge of death due to negligence.
Savalaram Agavane, senior inspector of Agripada police station, hinted that Shah may soon get bail.
The police had earlier arrested a doctor, ward boy and woman attendant for negligence. They were later released on bail.
Rajesh Maruti Maru was accompanying his relative to the MRI room when the incident took place. The ward boy allegedly asked Maru to help him carry the cylinder into the MRI room, while the machine was on. Maru inhaled large amount of oxygen that leaked from the cylinder and was sucked into the machine.
