The 24-year -old man, who fell off the train while on his way to Airoli for his first day at work and lost his legs, was the sole breadearner in the family.

On Monday, Diva resident Bibin David fell off a local train and lost his legs near Thane railway station.

”I left four trains as they were crowded. As the train crossed Kalwa, I suddenly got thrown out of the train. When I opened my eyes, I was in hospital with my legs amputated. I will recover soon and look for another job,” said David.

Diana Pinto, David’s sister-in-law , said, “We are shocked. We were scared to tell him. He is too brave. While going inside the operation theatre to get his leg amputated, he was consoling his mother that he will be soon. He said he would soon look for a job.”

She said, “Last year, on the same day he suffered a brain haemorrhage. Monday was his last day of taking medicines for it. He was so happy, but within a couple of hours he met with an accident.”
