Neighbour booked for raping 3-year-old at Kalyan

A 19-year-old man was booked for allegedly raping his neighbour, a 3-year-old, after convincing her to come to his house to watch television on Wednesday.

A 19-year-old man was booked for allegedly raping his neighbour, a 3-year-old, after convincing her to come to his house to watch television on Wednesday.

The police said around 7pm on Wednesday, the accused spotted the girl playing outside her house. He called her to watch television and then sexually assaulted her. While he let the girl go home, he warned her against talking about the incident, said a police officer from the Manpada police station.

The girl went home but was in pain. When her parents noticed this and asked her what happened, she related the incident. When the parents confronted the accused, he denied. They then approached the police and lodged a complaint.The officer said the girl and the accused were sent for medical tests. The man has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012(POCSO).
