Preparations in full swing for Coldplay concert in Mumbai

The organisers have taken all necessary permissions for green signals before the festival kicks off,

Preparations are in full swing for the debut edition of the Global Citizen India Festival (GCFI), headlined by the British rock band Coldplay.

The GCFI will also feature international artistes such as Jay Z, Demi Lovato and another rock band The Vamps. Among Indian celebrities who will be present at the jamboree include are Amitabh Bachchan, A.R. Rahman, Shah Rukh Khan, Freida Pinto and Alia Bhatt.

The festival’s focus is on creating an impact in education, equality, clean water and sanitation.

Around 80,000 people are slated to attend the six-hour festival at Bandra Kurla Complex grounds on November 19.

The waste generated during the festival will be segregated, organisers said.

All recyclable waste will be collected and handed over to a fundraising platform while all organic waste will be processed separately.

The organisers will also distribute semi-perishable raw food among the underprivileged communities in the city

The Coldplay performance is a part of Global Citizen India movement brought to India by Global Citizen, a social action platform, and Global Education and Leadership Foundation, an organisation to cultivate and improve the state of the planet through collective action.
