Two men, who own a TV showroom, were arrested on Thursday for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting their former employee, and his brother for abusing him while quitting the job.
The police said accused Rakesh Giri and his brother Rajiv Giri were near Ramabai chawl in Pant Nagar on Wednesday when they saw their former employee Sarvesh Kumar Gautam, 27, and his brother. In a fit of rage, Giri grabbed Gautam’s collar and dragged him to a side. Rakesh and Rajiv then took Gautam and his brother to a flat in Kurla. They assaulted them for seven hours there, said the police.
The duo then let the Gautam brothers go and threatened them to not approach the police. However, the two men filed a complaint in Pant Nagar police station. The police nabbed the Giri brothers on Thursday.
“Rakesh told us that three months ago Gautam had quit his job in the TV showroom and while leaving, he had abused him in front of other employees for not paying him for the past three months,” said Vikram Kohli from Pant Nagar police station. “Giri wanted revenge and to teach Gautam a lesson. But when he saw him, he decided to beat him up.”
The police have arrested the two for assault, kidnapping, confining and intimidation as well as common intention. They were presented before a court on Thursday and remanded in police custody for three days.
