The mishap occurred just outside CST station at 8.14am. CR officials said two wheels of the train’s engines derailed when it was leaving the CST yard.

No passenger was hurt in the mishap, but it affected CR suburban operation during morning peak hours. As the accident occurred on crossing point, movement of trains on the fast lines was affected.

Railway sources said that north-bound fast track was restored at 9.05am, but south-bound fast line was closed till late morning. Hence, bunching of trains happened on both slow and fast tracks.

Railway authorities said they have diverted fast line services on both south and north-bound tracks to slow lines. Commuters complained that trains were running late by more than 30 minutes.
