WR to run 8 special trains on Ganpati immersion night
The services are expected to bring relief to devotees returning home after the immersion on Anant Chaturthi, the last day of the ongoing Ganpati festival
Western Railways (WR) plans to run eight ‘Ganpati special’ suburban services between Churchgate and Virar on Anant Chaturthi on September 15, the last day of Ganeshotsav, said officials.

The services are aimed at bringing relief to devotees returning home after immersing the idols.
Of the eight trains, four will run from Churchgate to Virar at 1.15am, 1.55am, 2.25am and 3.20am, while the other four will run from Virar to Churchgate at 0.15am, 0.45am, 1.40am and 2.55am, said officials.
Sources in the Western Railways said that all these trains will stop at all the stations for the convenience of passengers.
Earlier, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport had announced that 17 special buses will ply along seven routes for the convenience of devotees between September 9 and 14. These buses will be operational from 10.30pm to 6pm, said BEST officials.
