Arun Gawli gets 15­-day parole to attend to sick wife

MUMBAI: The Bombay high court on Monday granted a 15-day parole to gangster Arun Gawli so he can attend to his wife, who is to undergo a medical surgery.

Following an order passed by the bench of justice BP Dharmadhikari and justice AS Chandurkar, Gawli will be permitted to get out of jail on October 21 till November 2.

The former MLA, who is serving life imprisonment in connection with a murder case, had earlier been granted parole by the Nagpur bench of the high court on May 26, this year, to attend to his ailing mother, and before that, on April 30, to attend his son’s wedding. In May, the bench had granted him further relief by extending his parole by five days.

According to his counsel Mir Nagman Ali, Gawli’s wife has been keeping unwell for some months now and is to undergo a surgey later this month.
