Charge sheet against man who scaled Big B’s home wall

MUMBAI: The Juhu police filed an 11-page charge sheet on Monday against a 23-year-old who trespassed into actor Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu home, Jalsa, to sing a Bhojpuri song to him on Sunday. The police have recorded the statements of five employees working for the actor.

The police said the accused, Bullet Yadav, does not have a criminal record and his intention was not bad. Yadav has been booked for criminal trespass, a bailable offence, and has been remanded in judicial custody in Arthur Road jail for seven days. According to the police, Yadav wrote a few Bhojpuri songs, including one for Bachchan, and wanted to perform in front of the actor.

Sources said Yadav climbed up a tree to scale the wall, but the police have denied it. They said Yadav was caught in the compound and could not enter the bungalow.

Sunil Ghosalkar, senior inspector of Juhu police station, said they haven’t added to the actor’s security. A police official said the actor has been provided adequate security.

In 2012, Deepak Kewat, 20, had trespassed into the bungalow and stolen money. Kewat claimed he was a fan of the actor, adding he did not plan to steal.

Yadav had dropped out of school and was working at a construction site in Bihar. He came to Pune a few months ago came to Pune where he worked as a welder. He had visited the actor’s bungalow a few days, but was asked to leave.

Yadav, however, stayed on the streets near the bungalow and finally decided to get in somehow to meet the actor. He was spotted by one of the employees of the actor and was handed over to the police. The police said it was not clear for how many hours he was in the bungalow.
