The three accused — Indrani Mukerjea, Peter Mukerjea and Indrani’s former husband Sanjeev Khanna — were produced before special CBI judge HS Mahajan on Monday.
Peter’s family was seen talking to Indrani. Khanna took part in it too.
When the court called out for the case in the afternoon , special CBI prosecutor Bharat Badami and Kavita Patil told it that the agency would file a supplementary charge sheet by Friday. “During the hearing on Peter’s bail application, we made a statement before the Bombay High Court that additional evidence would be submitted within a week. However, as the officers are still preparing for it, we would file it by Friday,” the CBI lawyers submitted.
Meanwhile, the special court suggested a timeline for the trial, and said that if the agency filed all documents by Saturday, it could start the trial and frame charges against the accused by the end of the month.
