The ATS, after filing the charge sheet in the case, had arrested Nadeem and Naquee in the bike theft case. The agency alleged that the duo, on the instructions of Yasin Bhatkal, the mastermind of the blasts, had stolen two-wheelers a day before the blasts and explosives were fitted in them for explosions in Zaveri Bazar and Opera House. Two separate cases registered with the the VP Road and Dongri police stations for the thefts.

The duo was first arrested in the VP Road case and was remanded in police custody till Tuesday. The ATS sought custody in the other case.“The duo was remanded in custody till June 2,” said their lawyer Khalid Azmi. He added they have filed for bail in the earlier theft case.
