2 held for selling fake phone accessories

The MRA Marg police arrested two men from Tardeo, on Monday, for selling fake Nokia mobile phone accessories.

The MRA Marg police arrested two men from Tardeo, on Monday, for selling fake Nokia mobile phone accessories.

The police recovered goods worth Rs 12.38 lakh from the duo.

“The men have been arrested under section 51, 63 and 65 of the Copyright Act and seized goods include mobile phone bodies worth 4.23lakh, batteries worth Rs.8.08lakh and earphones worth Rs.87, 000,” said Sanjeev Kokil, senior police inspector of MRA Marg police station. The men identified as Yashpal Tarachand Jain (26) and Alpesh Kishore Jain (20), were arrested after an inspection officer from Nokia informed the police about the fake products being openly sold in the market, said the police.

The police raided the retail shop owned by the accused in Sahara Market near Crawford Market and seized the accessories.
