The toll in the July 13 triple blasts rose to 23 when two victims of the Zaveri Bazar explosion succumbed to their injuries on Saturday.

Sunder Singh Bisht, 30, an office boy, died at 8 am while Ajay Varma, 40, who suffered severe head and burn injuries died at JJ Hospital in the evening.
Bisht had stepped out with friends for a snack when the bomb went off. “For the past few days, we had been hopeful of his condition improving, but he contracted an infection and started getting breathless,” said his elder brother Balwant. “With his health deteriorating, we had braced ourselves for the worst.” Bisht is survived by his wife and two-year-old son.
Ajay Varma ran a papad stall at Zaveri Bazar and was attending to customers at the time of the blast. He is survived by his wife and three-year-old child.
Currently, 14 victims of the triple blasts are still critical in various city hospitals.
