20K students in state may lose a year
The fate of 20,000 students in various colleges in the southern part of the state lies in the balance as the Shivaji University has issued notices to colleges that have failed to appoint principals.
The varsity has warned that students in colleges with no principal will not be allowed to appear for their annual examinations. There are 43 colleges in Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara that have not had principals for the last few years.
Following the Bombay high court order, the university issued notices to the concerned institutions. But, the students now face losing an academic year because their institutions have not appointed principals.
