The evening will begin with a recitation of poetry by Javed Akhtar, followed by musical performances by Hariharan and Kavita Seth.

“It is our mark of ultimate respect for these martyrs and families. Society and law agencies need to work with mutual trust,” says Dayanand Shelar, co-founder of Shantidoot. A memorial ceremony will be held too, following which families of martyrs and chief guests will speak about their personal experiences after the fateful day. They will be given awards for their sacrifices. “It feels nice that people still remember those who sacrificed their lives. The memories will always be cherished and a new generation will look upon them as idols,” says Vinita Kamte, wife of one of the 26/11 martyrs, Ashok Kamte.

The concert will be held tonight at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, from 8-9.30 pm. Call 98199 66189 for details.
