30-yr-old run over by BEST bus in Goregaon

A 30-year-old BEST driver was arrested for running over a pedestrian on Monday. According to the police, the driver of the bus, Pramod More, hit Yogendra Dhamgaye (38), while he was crossing the service road at Goregaon (E).

A 30-year-old BEST driver was arrested for running over a pedestrian on Monday.

According to the police, the driver of the bus, Pramod More, hit Yogendra Dhamgaye (38), while he was crossing the service road at Goregaon (E). The bus was coming from Malad and heading towards Andheri.

“More lost control and rammed the bus into Dhamgaye who came under the front wheel of the vehicle and died on the spot,” said Police Inspector Jaywant Mane.

Dhamgaye was originally from the Gondiya district of Maharashtra and had come to the city a few months back in search of a job. He was staying with his friend at Ashok Nagar in Goregaon (E).

More was arrested for rash and negligent driving and causing death due to negligence. Dhamgaye was rushed to Bhagwati Hospital where he was declared dead before admission. More was produced in court and released on bail.
