The police said the accused had gone to Ghatkopar to sell the contraband. They received a tip-off, following which they laid a trap for Aarif Khan, a resident of Pydhonie. On Saturday, Khan was arrested when he arrived near the Deccan Merchant Bank in Byculla (East) to sell the charas he had.

“Khan has been charged under several sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,” said an official from the Ghatkopar unit.

In another case, the Borivli unit of the anti-narcotics cell also arrested a 60-year-old woman, Jehrabi Mehboob Shaikh, and recovered 3.140 kg of charas from her.
