The Bandra police on Monday arrested seven men in a rioting case registered by the managing trustee Niket Mehta of Lilavati Hospital Trust.

Police said some of the arrested men are members of the Shiv Sena Bhartiya Kamgar Sangh.
On July 23, Niket registered a rioting case against his cousin and trustee Chetan Mehta alleging that he had sent around 15 men to attack him.
This happened minutes after Niket stopped Chetan from meeting his father who was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit at Lilavati hospital.
The complaint was lodged a day after Chetan had filed a non-cognisable complaint with the police alleging that Niket was terminating senior hospital employees even when he was not authorised to do so.
“We don’t have any concrete evidence against Chetan. The CCTV footage of the cameras installed where Niket was assaulted does not show Chetan,” said Senior Inspector Prakash George.
The union members frequently visited the hospital, hence they were not stopped from entering the premises on Friday, police said.
The arrested were identified as Sanjay Sawant (42), Prakash Naik (52), Krishna Gawde (28), Sunder Chauhan (40), Armogam Babu (42), Bhau More (45) and Milind Sawant (39).
A legal battle has been on for four years between the family members to take control of the trust.
Niket had reportedly disqualified his paternal uncle and Chetan’s father, Prabodh, from the trusteeship claiming he had been convicted in a forgery case by a Belgium court.
