Abu Jundal could help reveal 26/11’s local connection

Jundal’s disclosures will either put to rest, or re-kindle, the probe into the role of Indian operatives in the worst-ever terrorist carnage in the country, a senior crime branch official told HT on Monday.
He said they are now looking at the possibility of Jundal, who was transferred to the custody of the Mumbai police last week, having been in touch with his Indian contacts before, during, and after the 26/11 attack.
Speculations emerged over the involvement of locals in the 26/11 attack after a disclosure to that effect by the then Mumbai police commissioner, the late Khwaja Hasan Gafoor. Later, Gafoor, believed to be under pressure, said it was a mistake and no local hand was involved in the attack which was essentially conceived, planned and launched from Pakistan.
