The 31-storey tower at Colaba is under fire for flouting land transfer and coastal norms.

“Adarsh Society was served a notice on Monday,” said a senior civic official requesting anonymity since he is not authorised to speak to the media.

The occupation certificate was revoked last week pending further directions from agencies investigating the matter.

The building’s flats got water connections only 12 days ago and the society will be billed for it, said the official. If the society defaults on the payment, the amount will be added to its property tax bills.

The society has got a notice period of 48 hours before the water supply is cut.

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) extended its deadline for disconnecting power supply to Tuesday. Its officials had to personally deliver its notice to the society’s core members on Monday as they refused to acknowledge the one pasted on the building’s notice board on Sunday.
