A 23-year old died and his 21-year old friend suffered serious injuries after their bike was involved in a serious accident on the Lalbaug flyover in Lower Parel on Monday afternoon.
A 23-year old died and his 21-year old friend suffered serious injuries after their bike was involved in a serious accident on the Lalbaug flyover in Lower Parel on Monday afternoon.
Police said Gautam Wagle and Ali Shaikh were rushed to JJ Hospital, following the accident, which happened around 2.15 pm on Monday. Wagle, a 23-year-old student, was riding pillion and was declared dead on admission at the hospital, while Shaikh, 21, who was riding the bike fractured his hand and is recuperating.
“Gautam and Ali were riding on the Lalbaug flyover towards Haji Ali when their bike skidded down the length of the flyover,” said senior inspector Suresh Jain of Kalachowki police station.

“The investigation is in progress. As of now, we do not have any information if the motorist was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Jain said.
