The L ward covers Kurla, Chunabhatti and parts of Saki Naka.

The two suspended officials are MS Kamble, a junior engineer, and PD Pawar, a junior supervisor. “Their negligence towards illegal constructions and their support of it prompted the commissioner to suspend them immediately,” a civic official said, requesting anonymity as he is not authorised to speak to the media.

After taking charge as municipal commissioner, Kumar had issued directions to all wards as well as the building proposal and the building and factory departments to keep a stricter vigil for illegal constructions in their jurisdictions. He had also issued a circular asking these departments to make a list of all illegal constructions in the wards and issue notices to them immediately.
