The proposal will be presented to the standing committee on September 17.

As per the proposal, M/s Data Matix Global Services Ltd will set up centres at various offices of the BMC under the guidance of the nodal officer appointed by departmental heads, who will monitor the process of digitisation.

“We did not want to waste time in calling for tenders. We have asked the contractor shortlisted by the state government to do the work. We hope to complete the work in the next year,” said Mahesh Narvekar, director in-charge, information and technology cell of the BMC.

Narvekar said that the security and easy availability of documents were major concerns of the civic administration, prompting them to bring out the proposal. “Many documents will be put on the website after the digitisation of all the documents is complete,” he said.
