“I wanted to be part of something worthwhile and try and make a real impact in the world around me,” said 36-year-old Kumar, who is the regional head of the western region at iVolunteer, a non-profit organisation that mobilises volunteers for social development sector.

Addressing this trend, JobsForGood.com, a recruitment service provider for the social sector, is organising Career Showcase as part of the Joy of Giving Week on Saturday. The workshop intends to address fundamental queries with regard to career options in the social sector such as remuneration, work culture, application of one’s skills in the sector and the kind of job profiles.

“I have met a number of professionals, who are frustrated with the private sector, and are keen on moving to a sector which will give them a sense of fulfilment in their career,” said Shalabh Sahai, organiser of the event and co-founder of JobsForGood.com.
